The 2015 Metro FM Awards have brought with them an interesting and jam packed selection of musical pioneers, making for a fascinating showdown amongst the highly praised South African Music giants.
The nominations have been announced and the time is now!!!
We are delighted to congratulate the various Sheer Publishing Composers and Songs writers for their Nominations in this years 2015 Metro FM Awards.
The Man of the Hour, Cassper Nyovest!
2014 was ground breaking year for South African Hip Hop as Mr Nyovest released his highly awaited first album “Tsholofelo”. Cassper Nyovest real name Refilwe Phoolo took SA by storm after releasing his smash hit singles, “Gusheshe and Doc Shebeleza” with secured him the no.1 stop as the peoples voice. Cassper banked a total of 6 nominations for the upcoming Metro Awards making him the highest voted nominee for 2015. His nominations are Best male album, Song of the Year, Best Hit Single, Best Music Video, Best Hip Hop Album and Best remix. We wish Cassper All the best.
Next on the list is none other than the infamous dynamic duo Robby Malinga and Mojalefa Thebe. The two music giants nomination come in the form of Idols season 11 winner Musa, for his debut album “The Dream”. Robby and Mjakes produced several songs on the Dream, namely Angsakwazi, Fight for you and Keep on Dreaming. Amongst these Legends is yet another outstandingly talented Sheer Publishing composer, Kabomo Vilakazi. Also up for a nomination through Musa’s The Dream, Kabomo co-composed a song titled Laph’ong Phuma Khona” for Musa’s debut album.
Collectively their works have been nominated for Best New Artist. Sheer Publishing hopes the 28 February proves to be a memorable moment for for the people who make it all a happen behind the scenes”, All the Best.
In addition, Robby and Mjakes earned themselves two more nominations via Naima Kay’s Ngiyavuma. The nominations are for the Best Remix and the Best African Pop Album. We which our composers a very prosperous evening during the awards.
Yet another Sheer Publishing composer graces the nomination list. Jonathan Butler’s latest release “Living my Dream” earned him a nomination for the Best Urban Jazz Abum. Living my Dream, released on the 24 June 2014 is a distinctive smooth jazz and R&B compilation that sends true music lovers into a state of Nostalgia. We wish you the best!!!!
Our very own deep rooted, harmonically gifted and stunningly beautiful Kelly Khumalo is back to claim the spot light and this years Metro’s. Kelly has proven her claim to stardom with body after body of uncontested African Pop music. She has definitely been a driving force and inspiration to many a women who one day wish to walk in the steps she has taken. Kelly has bagged 2 Nominnations at this years awards, namely Song of the Year for “Asine” and Best African Pop Album for “Back to my Roots”. We wish for her only the best.
Lastly we give out a warm congratulation to “Dr Doctors” Kyle Shepherd for his Best Urban Jazz Album Nomination. Kyle’s latest album title “Dream State” ,locked him a nomination for its rich acoustically engineered sound, with a combination frequencies designed to send someone into a “Dream State”. We wish Kyle nothing but the best, bring it home.
