Durban was once again the centre of the film world as it hosted the 9th Edition of the Durban FilmMart (DFM) the industry development programme of the eThekwini Municipality’s Durban Film Office and Durban International Film Festival (Centre for Creative Arts, KZN), and Sheer Publishing Africa was in attendance.
It was my first exhibition with the company since I joined the music publishing firm 7 months ago as an intern. We attended the 4-day Industry program with my team Mpumi Philips (Creative Manager) and Mandrew Mnguni (Managing Director) which was hosted at the stunning Elangeni Hotel by the North beach of Durban.
It was a wonderful opportunity to network with as many industry participants as possible and get to understand their perspective of what a music publisher is and what role does it plays in the film and television industry today.
THE Durban International Film Festival (DIFF) also welcomed 19 filmmakers from 13 African countries to the 11th edition of Talents Durban, we had an opportunity to meet with some of the participants to discuss what they’re currently busy with and how Sheer Publishing can assist them.
