Client Profile: Bongiwe Madela

Bongiwe Madela was born and raised in Katlehong East Rand in the city of Ekurhuleni. She studied music performance at the Central Johannesburg College and started to perform as a backing vocalist in 2015 for gospel artists such as Putuma Tiso, Ayanda Shange, Hlengiwe Pearl, and many more. She has also worked as a backing vocalist on the Sunday morning gospel show hosted by Khaya Mthethwa; Gospel Avenue.

Bongiwe Madela is working with the award-winning gospel artist Dr. Tumi. She also recently performed on the international stage of BET’s Sunday Best in the USA (Atlanta, Georgia) and shared the stage with the likes of Vashawn Mitchel, Jonathan McReynolds, and Erica Cambel from Mary Mary, Kelly Price, and Kirk Franklin.

She has 2 singles on digital platforms named ‘Mnini Mandla Onke’ (Akukho)  and ‘True Vine’, along with other features with various artists. She most recently joined the biggest choir in Africa; MTN Joyous Celebration and has performed a song titled ‘Jesus is Lord’ on Joyous 25 released in 2021.
