Introducing Saroy TNP: Rising Zimbabwean Afrobeat Artist

Saroy TNP is a Zimbabwean-born, South African-based Afrobeatz artist and producer.

He was born and bred in Matabeleland South at St Anne’s (Brunaberg) hospital between the two cities of Plumtree and Bulawayo, in the small township of Nketa 7.

SaroyTNP is currently based in Johannesburg, South Africa, and signed to Johannesburg-based record label 031recordz.

In 2020 he released his studio debut E.P “Two Sided” (2020) which propelled him to be nominated as a “Best Newcomer” at the 011 City Awards hosted in Johannesburg.

He was heavily influenced by legends such as the late Lucky Dube, Bob Marley & The Wailers, Tupac, and Oliver Mtukudzi while growing up, and current influences are Sjava and more. He is inspired by and fuses Usintu, Maskandi, Reggae, Dancefloor & Hip Hop.

SaroyTNP’s Southern Afrobeat sounds are also influenced by the Steady Rock Reggae subgenre. Compared to the fast-paced sounds from the Northern parts of Africa.

He is currently working on his 2nd E.P titled “Indosakusa” and his debut full-length album titled “I Made in Africa” with 18 Afrobeatz tracks like “Ndiwe song” which also features Malawian Award Winning Artist Sithe and many more African talents.
