Prolific producer, Folorunso Busayo Philips A.K.A FLIPTYCE was raised in Ondo State, South West Nigeria, Fliptyce’s love for music and arts started at a very young age. He was always in the choir through out his primary school and college days. He started in music production in early 2000 when he stumbled on a music production software included on game software purchased by his brother.
In March 2009 he produced a hit song for Danny Young, a Nigerian afro-hiphop artiste. In 2010 he traveled to the UK to aquire more knowledge in music production and sound engineering, returning back to Lagos he began producing career-defining hits for artists such as P-Square, Faze Bracket, May-D and more.
In 2011, he produced “Chop My Money” for one of the biggest artistes in Africa, P-Square and also the remix a few months later featuring Akon which catapulted him to international attention.

What is your creative process? How do you start creating a beat? / How do you start writing lyrics to a beat?
Its starts with good inspiration, followed by perfect rhythm and melody which helps me in creating the beat. Then just one good line of the lyrics will help in writing the lyrics fully.
What made you chose a career in this field?
Because I recognised my talent in this field and I have passion for music

What advice can you give to aspiring composers?
They should make sure they really have the talent with in them before going into it, and they should develop and train them selves very well. And be disciplined.

What has been the highlight of your career?
Producing a living legend like Akon and also responsible for one of the biggest song out of Africa “Chop my money”. Touring Europe and America producing local and international artistes.
