Sheer Publishing welcomes new signing Nova Rise!

Nova Rise

1. How long have you been composing?
Each individual in Nova Rise have been writing music for years, however as a unit we have been writing together for the past 5 years.

2. What is your creative process? How do you start creating a beat? / How do you start writing lyrics to a beat?
Each member is different, writing music comes from inspiration, a melody, or even messing around with our instruments. Initially it begins with a strong concept and a lot of experimentation that happens, always error before the final product is done.

3. What made you chose a career in this field?
The love of music, how it has the ability to make people get in touch with their emotions, and creating something that everyone can connect with. Music is if not the most powerful thing to create all kinds of emotion.

4. Did you do any courses for your career field?
I don’t think they’re a specific course that you can go to in my opinion “Christian” music is about uniqueness and you can’t learn uniqueness…there are basic music rules that you follow and practical lessons to better your instrument.

5. What advice can you give to aspiring composers?
Write what you feel, and keep on writing, don’t stop…the more music you write the better you will become and listen to music that is relevant to your life. Don’t ever give up, it’s the easy way out and take criticism for what it is…Not from idiots that think they know better but constructive criticism which will help you grow.

6. What other composer’s or artists have you worked with?

Answers: The band has written four tracks with founder of Linkin Park Jeff Blue and Mike Gonsolin who has worked with the likes of Lady Gaga, Dj Lethal from Limb Bizkit etc. We are currently in talks with a producer who co-wrote Lips of an Angel from the band Hinder…

7. What has been the highlight of your career?
Travelling to the City of Angels aka Los Angeles, Hollywood and getting a feel of what the music scene and entertainment life is and understanding that it is the “city of dreams”
