Sheer Publishing Africa believes in education and collaboration. They recently partnered with the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) to host an interactive master class on movie scoring called “Start with the End in Mind.”
The class emphasized the importance of music in films and aimed to provide filmmakers and producers with basic knowledge of music rights.
Managing Director of Sheer Publishing Africa, Thando Makhunga, says, “Sheer identified the need for knowledge sharing between the music and film industries. With this partnership with the NFVF, we aim to enable connections between directors, producers, and composers to improve the quality of film scores, the understanding of music licensing, and the value of music supervision to productions.”
The organisations plan to conduct workshops to equip and educate future filmmakers, with a focus on promoting the South African film industry and increasing access to its films.
