Soul Brothers At Moshito 2015

David MasondoMoshito Music Conference and Exhibition (Moshito 2015), Moshito Board of Directors are saddened and devastated by the passing of Mr David Masondo of the renowned proudly South African musical group Soul Brothers.

The Soul Brothers have been identified by Moshito Board to be part of our Moshito 2015 Music Festival scheduled for 11 September 2015 in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, preceding the inaugural Moshito Music Festival in Newtown Park, Johannesburg on 12 September, which will become a permanent feature of the broader Moshito activities but more importantly, in 2015.

The festival will focus on our celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Freedom Charter through music. The festival organisers have identified groups and performers such as Soul Brothers and other notable musical talents of our country to be part of our festival to advance and personify our theme which is ‘From Kwela to Hop: The Great South African Song Book’, which will trace how music played a significant role in the liberation struggle.

It will be a great honour for the Soul Brothers to remain as part of our line-up to celebrate his illustrious musical career at our festival. Mr Masondo’s music was part of our cultural identity and global distinctiveness. To Mr Masondo family, please note that your father was a respected musical composer and performer, his music will live with us forever. Lala ngo xolo Masondo
