Stonebwoy, real names Livingstone Etse Satekla was born in Ash airman and began making music in his early school days. He studied at Methodist Day Secondary School where he gained his High School Leaving Certificate. He continued his tertiary education at Institute of Professional Studies (IPS) to earn a degree in Marketing in 2013.
He began performing music since high school as an underground rapper. He also appeared on a popular rap competition “Kasahare Level” on Adom FM which featured Sarkodie and Dr Cryme. He was later discovered by Samini who signed him to his record label “Samini Music” this is where he recorded his first hit single “Climax” featuring Samini which received enormous aiplay in most Ghanaian radio stations and it was followed by the “Ghetto Love” featuring Irene Logan. Both songs earned him nominations at the Ghana Music Awards. After this exposure, he released his debut album “Grade 1 Album with his Burniton Music Group, his record label.
Stonebwoy with his amazing talent, he is considered a “multifaceted rapper” due to the various musical styles he possess. He has a way of keeping his fans glued up when he’s on stage and this is really earned him a lot of support from his fans. He has been nominated on the Ghana Music Honors for the category: Reggae/Dancehall of the year in the year 2012, 2013 and 2014.
This year he managed to scoop himself awards on the following categories:
