Suzanna Owiyo releases new single and music video

Suzanna Owiyo releases Wamiel, a new single and music video. Wamiel is the first of a series of a new music project in collaboration with new age producers and directors bringing Suzanna’s funk. The project’s culmination leads to her new untitled album, set for release in 2015. She says, “Finally the wait is over. To my fans, I present me to you Wamiel. You’ve always showed me tremendous support that inspires my creative mind.”

Wamiel (Dholuo for Let’s Dance) is a bonafide dance song and with authentic African beats that include rhythmic guitars applauding Benga. Wamiel has been produced by Polycarp ‘Fancyfingers’ Otieno of Sauti Sol and its video shot and directed by Enos Olik of Bokeh Family.

The song flaunts Suzanna’s free spirit and current inspiration. She says, “My responsibility is to serve you with more music and my journey continues with Wamiel. Let’s dance to this beautiful tune that has no formula but only you, can understand your own moves. Just let loose and simply dance. No one is watching.”

Suzanna Owiyo best known for her hit song Kisumu 100 has worked and toured with several world music stars like Youssou N’dour (Senegal) Koffi Olomide (DRC Congo) and Rebecca Malope (South Africa). She continues to dedicate her time and work to various societal projects that she is passionate about. She is currently a UNEP Goodwill Ambassador and Plan International Goodwill Ambassador under the “Because I am a Girl” Campaign.
