Accounts Administrator

Join our vibrant team at Sheer Publishing Africa, a prominent independent publisher in Africa. We’re seeking a versatile and detail-oriented General & Accounts Administrator to oversee both general office administration and accounting operations.

Job description

General/Office Administration Tasks:

Communication Management: Answer, screen, and redirect calls with a welcoming demeanor. Efficiently coordinate meetings and organize necessary arrangements. Greet and assist visitors, guiding them with professionalism.

Office Operations: Ensure the seamless functionality of our workspace. Monitor and maintain office equipment, fostering a productive office environment. Efficiently manage procurement of office supplies and stationery.

Vendor & Supplier Coordination: Source reliable suppliers, acquire quotations, and handle vendor forms and documentation meticulously.

Financial Administration Tasks:

Sales & Billing: Handle sales invoicing and processing credit notes diligently. Distribute monthly client statements promptly.

Debtor Management: Produce reports on outstanding debtors, diligently facilitate collections, and adeptly handle debtor queries.

Financial Reporting: Maintain weekly updates for the cashbook and income records. Manage petty cash and oversee Uber accounts.

Payments & Authorizations: Assist in collating and verifying weekly and monthly payments. Oversee foreign exchange transactions. Process payments and handle requisitions and filing for quarterly royalty payments.

Accounting Support: Assist with audit documentation and contribute to efficient cellphone and insurance management.

Asset & Entertainment Coordination: Efficiently manage assets, arrange travel and accommodations, and organize staff entertainment events like lunches and celebrations.

Record-Keeping & Support: Maintain accurate and organized records. Provide dedicated support in addressing client queries. Undertake any ad-hoc duties with enthusiasm and efficiency.

We seek an individual with a proactive and adaptable nature, capable of multitasking effectively. The ideal candidate demonstrates resilience, maintaining composure in fast-paced environments while embodying a collaborative and supportive attitude within the team.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Basic Accounting packages and MS Office.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to independently manage time and tasks efficiently.
  • Prior experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Experience with Sage or MS Dynamics
