Wildlifedirect, KWS, Blankets & Wine Present ‘Ndovu Zetu’ Concert – Saturday Feb 28

Feb 26, 2015

On the 28th of February 2015WildlifeDirect and Kenya Wildlife Service in conjunction with Blankets & Wine team up with some of Africa’s top musicians to “celebrate the Wonder of Elephants” at NDOVU ZETU CONCERT; a music concert to kick of Kenya’s first ever national wildlife festival – Kenya Wild Fest. The event will be held at the UNITED NATIONS RECREATIONAL CENTER GROUNDS from 1pm – 8pm and will be streamed live via the internet to audiences worldwide.

In the last 7 years, 897 elephants and 29 rhinos have been killed due to poaching in Kenya alone. In 1989 the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora banned international trade in ivory to combat this massive illegal trade. Yet, today, poaching and illegal trade of ivory is taking place in East Africa and our Elephants are in grave danger of becoming extinct! We need your help to put pressure on government to do more to stop the poaching!

Through the Soma Soma Initiative, Sauti Sol aims to speak directly to the African student by visiting learning institutions, and sharing how education has been central to shaping their careers as Musicians. SSI embodies the message of Choices, Challenges and Consequences. By Participating at the  Ndovu Zetu Concert, Sauti Sol plans to in-still in children the importance of wildlife and conservation.

Special appearances from Emmanuel JalVanessa MdeeJuliani and Syssi Mananga performing “TUSIMAME”
