My name is Zolile Mcelu, known professionally as TSA.
Where do you come from?
I was born and raised in Johannesburg.
How long have you been composing?
My first encounter with song writing took place when I was 15 years old.
What is your creative process? How do you start creating a beat? / How do you start writing lyrics to a beat?
I like to come up with the melody first which will then inspire the hook/bridge. But this all depends on the mood that I’m in at that moment.
What made you chose a career in this field?
I have a thing for unpredictability and spontaneity and that’s what music is for me. It keeps me on my toes all the time and that’s what I love about it.
Did you do any courses for your career field?
No.
What advice can you give to aspiring composers?
If music is what you love then you need to make it a habitual thing.
